Last updated 19 August 2026

Purrfolio is an Android app for keeping your pets’ care details and handing them to whoever is looking after them. It is made by Edmond (edmondcjg.com) and distributed under the package name com.purrfolio.app.

This policy explains what Purrfolio does with your information. It is short because Purrfolio does very little with it.

The short version. Purrfolio has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Everything you write, and every photo you add, is stored in the app’s private storage on your own device.

The developer cannot see any of it. The app makes no network requests of its own, and nothing is sold or shared.

What Purrfolio stores on your device

Two places, both private to the app and unreadable by other apps on your phone:

That includes names, breeds, birthdays, weights, feeding and medication details, notes, custom tabs and reminder times. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

What Purrfolio does not do

Purrfolio does not:

The app makes no network requests. The only connection it can cause is opening your browser if you tap the optional tip link.

Permissions, and why they exist

Camera

Requested only when you choose to take a photo for a pet’s profile.

Photos

On Android 13 and later this uses the system photo picker, which gives Purrfolio the single image you select and nothing else in your gallery. On Android 12 and below, legacy storage access is used for the same purpose. The picked image is copied into the app’s private folder; the original is left untouched.

Notifications

Feeding and medication reminders are off by default. Notification permission is requested only at the moment you switch a reminder on. Related permissions — vibrate, wake lock, run on boot, and launcher badge access — come from the reminder library and exist so scheduled reminders survive a restart.

Internet and network state

Declared by the app framework. Purrfolio itself makes no network requests.

Recording audio, drawing over other apps and exact alarms are blocked outright in the app’s configuration.

Payments

Purrfolio is free. There are no ads and no in-app purchases. There is a single optional tip link, which opens Ko-fi in your browser; the app has no billing integration and never sees any payment information. What happens there is governed by Ko-fi’s own policy.

When information does leave your device

Only when you ask it to, and only to a destination you choose. Sharing a pet produces a single HTML file — or a PDF, if you print it — which is handed to Android’s share sheet. You decide where it goes: a messaging app, an email, your own storage. Purrfolio does not send it anywhere itself. Once shared, the file is governed by whichever app or service you sent it to.

Android backup

Android’s automatic backup is enabled, which is the platform default. If you have backup turned on in your Google account settings, Android may copy the app’s private data — including your pets and their photos — to your own Google Drive. That copy belongs to your Google account, not to the developer, who has no access to it. You can turn this off in your device’s system backup settings.

How long information is kept

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can:

Because nothing is stored on a server, uninstalling is a complete deletion. There is no copy for anyone to recover, including the developer.

Children

Purrfolio is not directed at children and collects no information about anyone. It has no accounts, no messaging and no content visible to anyone but the person using the device.

Your rights

Data protection laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal information held about you. Because Purrfolio collects no personal information and holds nothing on any server, there is nothing for the developer to look up, hand over or erase — you already hold the only copy, and the app gives you tools to share and delete it yourself.

Third parties

Google Play distributes the app. Ko-fi is reached only if you tap the tip link, and only in your browser. There are no others.

If Purrfolio’s behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised.
